Social & Environmental Impact

We believe in the benefits of music for individual and community wellbeing, and from the beginning MINIM has been set up as a business with a purpose beyond profit. 

MINIM works at the intersection of music and social impact, sharing the impact of music with those who are disenfranchised or disadvantaged is embedded in our business model. We also believe good design shouldn’t cost the planet. Our products are created with sustainability in mind, using a closed loop approach to design.  

Our Social Impact

We donate 5% of every sale to causes in Australia and abroad for social impact. 

Since the launch of MINIM in Nov 2019 we have donated 5% of all sales to support organisations such as Support Act, Asylum Seeker Resource Centre, The Smith Family and Farm Aid. . 

Further to this social giving we’ve been delighted to support and collaborate with our local community of talented designers, manufacturers, artisans and creatives who all make significant contributions to our enterprise and the community at large.

This is only the beginning of our journey. In the future, we intend to develop and deliver programs that help bring music to spaces where people have been unable to enjoy it, through working with the groups and individuals with the most effective impact. 

Our Environmental Impact

Sustainability and environmental impact is core to how we produce our products. We have chosen processes, suppliers and materials based on a closed loop approach to design, following the regenerative cycle of nature where waste is reused or breaks down. We endeavour to achieve carbon neutrality by ensuring our shipping is carbon neutral and any emissions from manufacturing operations are offset via local native tree planting projects. As of Nov 2020 we are delighted to announce that we are partnering with 1% for the Planet. 1% for the Planet is a global movement of businesses and individuals working together to support environmental nonprofits.
