MINIM partner with '1% for the Planet'
MINIM was founded as a celebration of music and design. Our project was born of a vision to not only reorient living spaces towards the joy of music but also to make our own little contribution towards solving some of the social and environmental challenges of our time.
The MINIM Approach
In order to do this we have been committed to the following approaches:
We make our guitar stands with a cradle to cradle approach focusing on materials that can be recycled or breakdown.
We strive for transparency around where our guitar stands are made and who makes them. All of our stands are made in Australia with manufacturers and artisans who we know and who are part of our community.
We ship all of our guitar stands carbon neutral utilising Sendle
As of October, we now ship our stands utilising only plastic free, compostable packaging.
We donate 5% of sales to social and environmental causes
Now we’re officially partnering with 1% for the Planet
As part of our commitment to social and environmental giving we are delighted to announce that as of November 2020 we are officially partnering with 1% for the Planet to pledge 1% of our sales to environmental initiatives in Australia and where it is needed most.
We’ve been inspired by companies like Patagonia who seek not only to do less harm, but more good. Patagonia give more than 1% of sales to help hundreds of grassroots organisations all over the world so that they can remain vigilant, and protect what’s irreplaceable.
It’s been a crazy 12 months
Since the launch of MINIM in Nov 2019 we have donated 5% of all sales to support organisations such as Support Act, Asylum Seeker Resource Centre, The Smith Family and Farm Aid. While these causes might not be immediately associated with music as we initially planned they do relate to the immediate trauma which has arisen due to the impact of CV19 over the past year.
Further to this social giving we’ve been delighted to support and collaborate with our local community of talented designers, manufacturers, artisans and creatives who all make significant contributions to our enterprise and the community at large.
Grass roots giving with 1% for the Planet
As part of our partnership with 1% for the Planet we will be supporting authorised partners such as Green Music Australia, 1 Million Women and the Australian Conservation Foundation. We’ll discuss this further in future posts.
